What a great time of the year. We are busy, busy, busy. Corporate and Charity Events are popular at Elm Fork this time of year as we are able to provide for so many Target Sports disciplines. Sporting Clays is the next best thing in town. We are able to provide for an excellent wingshooting experience, and a little friendly competition, without ever having to leave Dallas. With this in mind please contact our General Manager and Club Pro, Jeanie Almond, to help organize your next big group event.

Hunting Season is just around the corner and it is important to sight in that Rifle. Make sure that you are ready for this Season, come out and shoot it in!! Know your equipment, capability, and set yourself up for optimum success. This year you can bring home "The Big Buck". Our Pro-Shop can handle any of your needs from helping you to sight in that Rifle to properly integrating that new scope. Our final Hunter Safety Course will be held on October 19, and 20th in the evening from 4:30p - 10:00p in the Shotgun Pro Shop. Please call to reserve your spot.

Elm Fork is open on Monday, September 6 from 12:00pm -6:00pm. We are so excitd for this Hunting Season to begin. Texas Parks & Wildlife is predicting good things for all of you hunting this year. This is the perfect time of year to come out to the range. It is I
portant to sight-in your equipment and practice. If you have not had your guns cleaned and checked since last year it is a great idea to get ahead of the game and come out to Elm Fork. If you are interested in getting that Bow ready you may want to come out and Shoot with the Dallas Texins Archery Club...these guys will get you feeling a little competitive and definetly get you motivated! Whatever your favorite type of shooting may be, we are the range for you. With 463 acres of usable space, we have every type of target, from Sporting Clays and Trap/Skeet, to Rifle,Pistol & Archery. August Is a Hot One!

WoW!! With Summer almost over and the heat upon us we are rollin' in to high gear for what looks like a great Opening Day of Hunting Season. Our Dove Clinics have been just the ticket for all of you out there who are planning on starting out with a bang. This clinic is extremely popular and you should probably call our pro-shop to get in on this fun educational course. These clinics are held in the evenings when temperatures are "usually" cooler, but make sure to be prepared with sunblock and water.
This time of the year the key word in "Hydration".
Having recently hosted "The Champions Cup", we are excited to be able to focus on our educational programming at Elm Fork. Hunter Safety is at the top of the list this time of year and classes book quickly so contact our pro shop to book your spot.
If you are interested in bringing out your special group, whether it
be a Corporate, Charity, Church Group, Office Gathering, Family Reunion, or
another special occasion. Elm Fork is capable of helping you create
memories for a lifetime. We may accomodate any size group from 5 to 500,

Leagues have been taking off and we are pleased with such a great showing for our Wednesday night 5-Stand. All are welcome and everyone should come to play. We have many leagues to choose from including some fun handgun leagues and special leagues for ladies. If you have seen the show "Top Shots", on the History Channel, you may be inclined to come out and give one of our leagues a try. They are both fun and challenging.
Many thanks to our shooters in all of the many disciplines who come out and brave the heat this time of year. Surprisingly, we are as busy as ever, which is a great compliment to all of you target shooting supporters.

July is the time to throw the Heat!!

Hello to all of our target shooting friends. Takl about heat...July has gotten off without a hitch and we are prepared each day for inclement weather. It seems that with the tropical storm in the Gulf, that we have seen more rain that usual for this time of the year. As it is we at Elm Fork are use to water and look forward to things being green for just a little while longer this summer. The facility is looking good and
we always try to make it better than the last time you came out for a visit.
It is almost time to start thinking about getting in to one of our Hunter Safety classes before August hits. Classes start to get a bit full rather quickly the closer it gets to opening day of the hunting season..beginning the first week in September. Call our Pro-Shop to book your place in our next class.
Elm Fork is happy to again provide a seasonal Wingshooting Clinic, which is designed to help you understand different techniques and basic responsibiities in various Wingshooting or Watefowling situations. Classes are posted on our lessons/instruction page. This Clinic is limited so please call to reserve your spot with some of the best instructors around.
If you are interested in leagues, Our Wednesday nite 5-Stand group is growing in numbers, and is a great time. We are glad to host them and look forward to them being around for a long time to come.
Elm Fork is in the process of gearing up for our next "Big" event. Each year we are the host to one of the most challenging and fun Sporting Clay events of the year. We look forward to this event throughout the year and are excited to welcome back many shooters new and seasoned to Elm Fork.

Wow! Summer and the heat sure got here fast. Elm fork is shaping up and green for now. It is the perfect time to come out with your special group wheather you are entertaining family, or showing off one of Dallas best kept traditions to your clients. Our specialty at Elm Fork is our educational pragraming. We hold basic shotgun, basic handgun, CHL, and Hunter Safety classes year round. Instructors and classes are available, however, you should contact our Pro-Shop for scheduling information.
We are happy to have you and look forward to helping you learn more regarding the target sports, we provide all levels from basic to advanced.

Leagues are up and running, and we are excited to see all of our shooters back in action. We even have quite a few new guys and gals and are glad to have you out. Some of our fun leagues include: Sporting Clays, 5-Stand (condensed version of sporting clays), Skeet, Diva Clinics (all ladies), and DAPS or the Dallas Action Pistol Shooters (This group is fun and challenging)

Elm Fork is happy to give a big "Shout Out", to all of our shooters who recently competed in the Texas State Sporting Clays Championships. You are all champions to us. Looking forward to our next club Sporting Clays event coming up on July 18.

What a beautiful spring. Elm Fork is again bustling. Having recently hosted the DIVAs' Outdoor Education Clinic, we have officially kicked off our Spring Season.

We are excited for our upcoming event on Sunday, April 18. which will be our "Spring Blast". It is a registered NSCA event, however, all competitors are welcome and we are looking forward to a wonderful day and some challenging targets.

Some new things happening at Elm Fork. We are excited to be the new host shooting facility for "The Dallas Texins Archery Club." We are putting in the new courses, and target ranges and look forward to a fun and exciting relationship with this awesome group of shooters. If you have not had the opportunity to see what Archery is all about, come out and meet "The Texins". From Cross Bows to Long Bows to Compound Bows, one try and you will be hooked.

Elm Fork also welcomes the "Dallas Action Pistol Shooters Association". If you have not had the opportunity to check out this fun and exciting club, you may want to come over and check em' out. These guys are truly competitive and a most challenging addition to our facility. These guys and girls are absolutely excited about this game, and they love to share their knowledge and help you to learn the ins-and-outs of Action Pistol Shooting.

Another Season of Berettas' Wild and Raw is underway and we are looking forward to the next season with our own Scott Robertson and Navy SEAL, Marcus Luttrell . We wish them the best and love this show. You can check it out on The Outdoor Channel.

Wow..looks like we are getting ready to see a little more sunshine and that means taking it out side to play. Elm Fork Shooting Park is a great way to get out and enjoy the up and comming Spring-Time.
With several events already on our calendar including basic classes for handgun, and shotgun..we will also be returning to our Spring Leagues. Get your guns out it is time to shoot some major clay targets. We look forward to our leagues as they provide a great forum for a little friendly competition.
The Sporting Clays season is officially open and Elm Fork is looking forward to our montly club Sporting Clays Tournament. If you are in it for fun or are seriously looking for some challenging tournament practice..Elm Fork is the Clays Range for you.
Elm Fork Shooting Range is proud to host several shooting clubs which hold regular events and always love to welcome new participants.

February is in like a Lion?

We were all a bit surprised by the "Big Snow" in Dallas this past week. The Range was closed due to inclement weather, and also a little bit of flooding due to melting snow and some "run off" from Lewisville Lake. With our amazing crew..we were able to get back up and running in no time. Many thanks to our guys and their hard work.
Elm Fork is running and ready to go with both the rifle and pistol ranges open and all Clay Target games, with the exception of the Woods Course.
Keep your eyes on the targets as March gets under-way leagues will be getting started. The Dallas County 4H is on the move and shooting on Tuesday nights. We hold basic shotgun, and handgun classes on Saturdays (please check calendar for dates/times)
Hunter Safety Classes will be held each month, a minimum of 8 participants to hold the course is required, so bring out your Mom, Dad, Grandpa, Grandma, Uncles, Aunts, Cousins, Sweethearts, and friends to fill the class and then you will all be prepared for your next big Hunting Adventure.

Wintery Weather and Global Warming!

We want to thank everyone who came out to shoot in the Winter Classic. We sure had alot of shooters and made alot of hot chocolate. The Elm Fork staff made sure that the targets were flying and the machines were busy. What a fun day at the Range. We are greatful for our wonderful staff that keeps us fed in the Club House...warm food and warm hearts...warm feet make alot of sense also.

The Range is open and ready to throw some good targets. Plates and Paper are ready to go as well. Remember the weather is warm in Texas right now..compared to Maryland...we are considering flip-flops and T-shirts..

Get Ready for a fun filled day...On Sunday, February 7, we will be hosting our first NSCA Sporting Event of the year. The WINTER CLASSIC is our first event to kick off the 2010 Sporting Clays Season. come out and shoot the event in the Morning and then be home before pre-game festivities for Superbowl XLIV. With February under way..it seems that the weather has decided to play nice. It has been beautiful outside and it seems that everyone wants to come out to play at Elm Fork.
We are happy to have our class schedules up and ready for booking. If you are interested in basic shotgun, basic handgun, Concealed Handgun Licensing, Hunter Safety Certification, or our Practical Tactical Course, please contact our pro-shop and ask for Melissa, (972-556-0103) she will be happy to book your class for you.
Please know that class space is limited depending on the course. Check out our home pages for information regarding class dates, times, and fees. Both our Practical Tactical Course and our Concealed Handgun Course will be booked through the instructors only.
We are also booking for our Corporate, Charity and Group events. A day at the range can be a great way to promote your business, help raise funds for your specific Charity, and to celebrate group functions such as family reunions, wedding parties, birthdays, anniversaries, and team building.

Time Flies

Scott has just returned from the SHOT Show in Las Vegas. It is the largest shooting ,hunting, and outdoor sports industry event in the United States. The State of the Industry is good. We were glad to hear that especially after last year doom and gloom attitude. Most companies seemed to be really happy for our future in 1020.
We are excited for the new year, new inventory in the Pro-Shop so come on in and have a look around. We provide every thing you will need for a fun day at the Range.
Some of the local hotels even offer a special rate if you are planning on shooting with us. Those hotels are under our linked information.
We are especially happy for all of our Corporate and Charity Events. We are excited to see some of the older faces, but encouraged to meet all of the new faces that attend this year as well.
We are hoping for colder weather an want to reminds to dress appropriately for the weather.

Happy New Year 2010. Imagine our surprise to see temperatures below freezing. Important to remember to not only check local weather reports, but our Elm Fork website for updates on range openings and closings. If you are planning on comming out make sure that you are bundled up and warm. We will make sure to have plenty of Hot Chocolate on hand.
We are so excited to see warmer weather in the comming months. Our leagues will resume the week following Spring Break (Third Week in March), If you are looking for the opportunity to compete, need a little extra practice, or just a fun night to challenge your buddies...leagues may be just for you. Our Youth Shooting Programs are beginning as well. We are happy to be the host to the Dallas County 4H. We are excited to be training future generations of Top Shots!

It was so nice to have a white christmas this year, a reminder of how beautiful things can truly be. Elm Fork was definetly a site to see dressed in Winter white. Spring will be here before we know it and we are getting ready for another exciting year at the Range.

In additon to our 5-Stand, Skeet, and Sporting Clay leagues, we host monthly Sporting events, and are looking forward to The Champions Cup comming in April.

We host a variety of instructional classes from The CHL Class to Hunter Safety, to Basics in Shotgun and Handgun. We specialize in instruction for Ladies and youth education.

We are proud to work with some of the finest educators in the area as well as Texas Parks and Wildlife and Women Outdoors Worldwide.

Happy Holidays to all of our friends in the Dallas/Ft.Worth metroplex, and those of you who travel so far to come and shoot with us.

Elm Fork is hosting a collection site for the Marine Corps for Toys for Tots. This year it is especially important to remember those who are in need. When you come out to shoot..please remember to bring in an unwrapped toy for the "Toys for Tots" drive .

We are very proud of our wonderful Elm Fork employees. These guys and gals have been with us for a while, and they all do a great job. Next time you come in, let them know how important they are.

We are having beautiful weather in Dallas this week. What a great opportunity to come out and sight in that rifle, practice on the paper, or even do a little "work-out" with the clay birds. If you are staying local for the holidays or having family in, we would love to see you out at the Range.

It is also that gift giving time of year. Time to show your appreciation not only for friends and family, but also for your favorite clients and business associates.

Already our first "Big Texas Snow". Elm Fork looks beautiful under its' little blanket of snow. We are open this afternoon and look forward to seeing you all ..bundle up and bring your hand warmers...burrrrr!

Wow, November has come and gone. Time has flown by this year. Elm Fork has kept busy this year with our most recent event being the host to the 2009 Outdoor Expo. We are greatful for the most supportive community with which we call home, Thank you Dallas/Ft.Worth! The Outdoor Expo had great attendance and it was fun to see all the kids "Take it Outside". We were indeed blessed with beautiful weather for this event.

We also want to thank all of our volunteers, vendors, exhibits, and sponsors. You guys help to make an event such as The Outdoor Expo a Dallas Tradition. The kids loved it!

We have been blessed with beautiful weather for this time of year. It is good to see all of the friendly faces ole and new. We thank you for continuing to come out and play at Elm Fork.

Scott is in West Texas filming an episode of Berettas' Wild and Raw, airing on the Outdoor Channel. He is especially excited because he will be hunting with Capt. Scott O'Grady. We know they will do well and have a great time. Keep watching the show.

We are in the race for The Golden Moose Award on The Outdoor Channel. The more votes we can raise the better off we are. You can go to the website and search Golden Moose, then you can vote for Wild and Raw as you favorites. We are hoping to take down the Duck Commander.

Getting Ready for EXPO 2009

We are so excited to be up and blogging. Elm Fork is getting the range ready for the 1st annual North Texas Outdoor EXPO. As the host of this event we are excited for the organizers Start Caring Wellness and Youth Target Foundation for all of the time and effort they have taken to bring this event to The North Central Texas Area. We are proud to work in conjunction with Texas Parks and Wildlife, Dallas Safari Club, and Bass Pro Shops among many other entities serving our community. Lets "Take it Outside" It is a beautiful week to be getting out with the kids.

Scott is on his way to South Dakota. Time to get filming under-way for season 2 of Berettas' WILD & RAW. Scott and Marcus will be hosting together again this year and we are looking forward to some exciting adventures. One show in the can will be a Florida Gator hunt.
